PPP programs, the 52 free guides, Jordan’s pipeline and the infrastructure singularity, in plain words.
Questions
About the PPP guides
- What is a PPP program?
- A PPP program is an organization’s own way of taking part in public-private partnerships (PPPs): a mandate, a named team, a map of the projects it can join, its own offer, partners and a first pilot, so it can work on one PPP project after another.
- Who are the guides for?
- There are 52 guides, one for every kind of organization in Jordan: the Royal Hashemite Court and the Prime Ministry, ministries and municipalities, banks and investors, developers and contractors, advisors, operators, technology companies, universities and schools, companies in 14 economic sectors, and humanitarian and relief organizations.
- Are the guides free?
- Yes. Every guide is free to read on its page and free to download as a 17-page PDF, and a free summary brings all 52 guides together in one document.
- What is in each guide?
- Each guide follows the same thirteen sections: the introduction, the guide itself, Jordan and Aqaba, artificial intelligence, robotics, tokenization, small PPPs in parallel, PPP research labs, unsolicited proposals, why your kind of organization, the program, the author and six first steps.
- How large is Jordan’s PPP pipeline?
- Jordan has about $86 billion of PPP and infrastructure projects in development, and about $46 billion of them are anchored in Aqaba, Jordan’s only port and its gateway to the Red Sea.
- Can a private company propose a PPP project in Jordan?
- Yes. Article 15 of PPP Law No. 19 of 2023 lets any private company take its own PPP idea to the Ministry of Investment or a public authority, and PPP Regulation No. 9 of 2024 sets out how it is studied. If the project goes to tender, the proposer can match the best offer.
- What is the infrastructure singularity?
- The infrastructure singularity is the point where the built world starts improving itself faster than anyone can direct it. Artificial intelligence designs and runs the assets, robotics builds and maintains them, and tokenization finances them and opens their ownership to everyone.
- What is the PPP singularity?
- The PPP singularity is the point at which it becomes cheaper to build the pilot than to conduct the study. The guides work toward it with small PPPs run in parallel, a research lab in each sector and every result published.
- How can an organization futureproof itself for the infrastructure singularity?
- By learning by building now: launch a PPP program of its own, run small PPPs in parallel, open a research lab in its sector, collect data from every asset and pilot, and test AI, robotics and tokenization on small projects before they reach its largest ones. Each guide turns this into six first steps for one kind of organization.
- How does an organization start?
- Find your kind of organization, read the guide written for it and take its six first steps: a mandate, a team, a map of the pipeline, your own offer, partners and a first pilot.
Questions
About the infrastructure singularity
- How much will it cost to rebuild the world’s infrastructure?
- Rebuilding and running the world’s infrastructure will take about $500 trillion over the next fifty years: $300 trillion to build the physical assets, $150 trillion to operate and maintain them, and $50 trillion for the sensors, compute and robotics inside them.
- Why will public-private partnerships carry the rebuild?
- Governments cannot fund, build and run the rebuild alone, and the private sector cannot do it without them, so public-private partnerships (PPPs) will carry much of it.
- Which technologies bring the infrastructure singularity closer?
- Artificial intelligence designs and runs the assets, robotics builds and maintains them, and tokenization finances them and opens their ownership to everyone.
- Where does it start?
- It starts in Jordan, with about $86 billion of PPP and infrastructure projects in development, $46 billion of them anchored in Aqaba, and 52 free guides that show every kind of organization how to launch a PPP program.
